How does the queue process work?
Once you fill out the Google Form, I will contact you to verify information and add your project to the queue. Once I get closer to your place in the queue, I will contact you when it's time to send in your quilt (usually 4-6 weeks prior to quilting) so there is time for shipping, planning, if batting or threads need to be ordered, etc.

Once your quilt arrives, I will let you know when it arrives but I may not open it right away. Because some fabrics and quilts tend to shed "thread confetti" I typically don't open up new projects while I have a quilt on the frame. Once I can open your project and take a look, I will contact you to go over all the details. This may not include a finalized quilting plan as sometimes the quilts and I need to "get to know each other". I usually finalize a quilting plan right before your turn in the queue so I'm not planning too many quilts all at once and can focus on each quilt as they deserve.

Once finished, I will check which carrier is best for you and confirm a shipping date (so someone is available to receive the quilt back). At this time, payments can be made by check, cash, Paypal invoice, Venmo, or Zettle. All return shipments have insurance added as well.

Pricing
All quilts are charged per square inch. Other fees may apply including batting, piecing backing, shipping, and taxes. If you have any questions on a quote, please contact me. Otherwise, I do have a minimum charge per quilt of $50.

Sizing
I can currently quilt up to an 115" quilt depending on the batting. The largest batting I currently carry is 122" square which would allow for a quilt roughly 115" square (I need a little extra around all four sides). I can acquire longer batting but the maximum width would be 115" wide. If you have any questions, we can discuss this.

Preparation
What I need from you is a nicely pressed quilt top that is free of loose threads. I know threads tend to happen, but if you could clean it up as much as possible, it will save me time and you money. There cannot be any holes in the quilt top. If there is a specific top edge to the quilt, but it's not obvious, please mark the top so it's easily visible.

Backings
Quilt backings need to come with the quilt and they need to be a bit larger than the quilt top. Your quilt back needs to be in excess of 10" added to the length and width of the quilt top. For custom quilting, 15" added to the width and the length would be appreciated (it helps allow more room for the ruler base). As with the top, the backings need to be nicely pressed, free of all loose threads, and no holes in the stitching. I do not stock backings at this time. It is your responsibility to provide backing and have it be the correct size. And please remember that it's always better to have too much backing than too little. If you have questions or need help determining how much backing you need, please contact me.

Batting
I currently stock Dream Poly Select batting, but can get any of the Quilter's Dream battings. They have a wide variety from cottons, blends, wool, puff, silks, etc. and I LOVE their products. If you have batting you would like to provide, I can use it depending on the type, but I have the final decision of what will work and what will not work with my machine. If your batting is not able to be used, prior to any changes, you will be contacted first. If you're providing batting too, please make the batting larger than the quilt top by 8"-10" added to the width and length.

Piecing Backings
I also understand that some people don't love every part of the quilting process and I may be able to help you out. If you don't want to piece your back, I can sew it together for you for $0.10 per linear inch of the seam. Just please notify me ahead of time this task needs to be done or it can result in a delay.

Binding
Due to health issues I cannot offer hand binding services at this time. I can attach your binding to your quilt by machine for an additional $0.10 per lineal inch but I cannot stitch it down by hand any longer.

Shipping
I will notify you when it is time to send in your quilt (or drop it off if you're local). Before you send any quilt my way, I need to be notified so I can stalk the delivery guy and make sure your quilt will be received.

When you send a quilt, please place your top and backing (and batting too if you're sending it too) in plastic of some sort along with your contact information. A return address is important because if you use a service like Mailboxes Plus, their address will be listed as the return address on the package and not yours.

Just imagine if your package were to drop in a puddle... I cannot rely solely on the address on the outside of the box.  Do NOT just put it in a box and send it naked. Also, do not tape up your package so tight that I have troubles opening the plastic without possibly damaging the contents.

I have the best luck with UPS or USPS, but whatever carrier you prefer should work. Assigning insurance is helpful (it has not been needed yet, but better to be safe!) and signature requirement is not necessary.

My Machine
I quilt on a HandiQuilter 24" Fusion and do most designs free motion (free hand). This allows me to give you a much better product and produce much better results for your quilt. I promise to treat your quilt with respect and I will care for it and quilt it as if it were my own. I upgraded to offer computerized quilting services as well but still do the majority of quilting freehand.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me anytime or call me at 440-567-1688. Please remember I do have other priorities than work so I respectfully ask that you do not call after 8pm Eastern time or on Sundays (we all need a day off from time to time). I do not make any calls before 9am, after 7pm or on Sundays.

Thank you!
